The Kenai facility of the Wards Cove Packing Company closed its doors in 1999 after operating on the shores of Cook Inlet, Alaska for over 80 years. Between 1976 and 1997 Pat photographed the plant and the bustle of over twenty seasons of a disappearing fishing industry. Where his color images recorded beauty, his black-and-white film captured a lifestyle that has since all but vanished.
